1987 Off-Roader Concept: Rugged, Reliable, Adventurous

When conceptualizing an off-roader for the year 1987, I drew inspiration from Subaru's legacy of building vehicles that are both rugged and reliable. The focus was on creating a design that feels ready to tackle any terrain, blending the tough, utilitarian aspects of classic Subaru models with a more refined, adventurous spirit. This concept car had to embody freedom, with the power to push the limits in both functionality and style, perfect for those seeking the thrill of the open road or the unknown.

The design was driven by practicality while maintaining a dynamic, bold presence. I wanted the vehicle to exude a sense of adventure with an unmistakable ruggedness, ensuring it looked capable of handling dirt trails as easily as highways. Each curve and contour was inspired by the Subaru models known for their reliability, such as the Subaru Brat and the Subaru Leone, while introducing modern elements to create something forward-thinking and enduring in its appeal.
