Concept Design Thought Process: 1929 Peugeot-Inspired Camper
Designing a camper for 1929 with influences from Peugeot's vintage aesthetic required a delicate balance between innovation and tradition. I imagined a design that captured the elegance of 1920s French automotive engineering, blending smooth, flowing lines with subtle yet intricate details. Drawing from Peugeot's classic models, I integrated features like a streamlined silhouette and graceful curves, evoking a sense of timeless sophistication while ensuring the vehicle retained its practicality as a camper.
The challenge was to make the camper feel both stylish and functional. For this, I focused on the luxurious aspects of French design: fine detailing around the grille and windows, along with a polished finish that could gleam in the sunlight. The vehicle needed to look like it belonged on both the open road and the French countryside, effortlessly combining comfort with the prestige Peugeot is known for. Charcoal sketching allowed me to explore the interplay of shadow and light, emphasizing the curves and contours that define this concept car's elegant yet rugged personality.
