Cabriolet Concept Design: 1985 Ford Inspired

As I approached the design of the 1985 Cabriolet, I sought to combine the rugged dependability of Ford with a sleek, yet versatile silhouette that could stand the test of time. The clean lines, accentuated by soft curves, reflect the all-American spirit, with a broad stance and a roofline designed to suggest both elegance and functionality. Integrating visual cues from Ford's previous models, such as the iconic Mustang's profile and Thunderbird's graceful rear end, was key to embodying the timeless charm of American automobiles.

The Cabriolet's lines were refined to embody dependability, using sharp contours along the side panels that hint at Ford's legacy of engineering excellence. The front grille, inspired by the 1980s Ford models, was bold yet unassuming, giving the car a classic, all-American appeal. A mix of sleek, geometric design with soft curvature around the wheel arches makes the Cabriolet versatile, capable of being both a daily driver and an open-air cruiser, easily transitioning from suburban streets to open highways.
