Designing a 1971 Art Deco-Inspired Compact SUV Concept
In envisioning a concept car that blends Art Deco with the compact, urban, and lightweight characteristics of 1971, my goal was to fuse the elegance and streamlined aesthetics of the Art Deco movement with the practicality demanded of an urban SUV. The inspiration draws heavily from the distinctive design lines of Ligier models, which emphasize a sense of agility and functionality. The silhouette should be low and wide, with smooth, rounded edges that evoke both the grace of the era and the efficiency required for urban driving.
To balance the traditional with the modern, the exterior incorporates bold geometric patterns and chrome detailing typical of Art Deco, yet it retains the lightweight nature of a Ligier model, ensuring it remains compact and easy to maneuver. The vehicle's design should be both refined and approachable, offering a nod to the past while pushing the boundaries of future SUV development. This concept strives to capture the luxurious, yet accessible nature of the 1970s while maintaining a forward-thinking approach to design and mobility.
